On talk radio and online, the flap about Newsweek's botched report of Qur'an-flushing at the U.S. Naval base at Guantanamo Bay has morphed into two separate, self-reinforcing threads of the left and the right.
In the conservative thread, Newsweek's sloppiness and haste to believe that U.S. Army interrogators desecrated the Qur'an while questioning Muslim detainees provides the latest evidence that the liberal media hate the Bush administration.
