LIVERPOOL'S surprise march to tonight's Champions League Final hasn't just revived hopes of a return to the club's glory days - it's brought their favourite son back into the fold. Skipper Steven Gerrard's future on Merseyside looked far from assured earlier in the season amid persistent reports of a move to Chelsea.

And the England midfielder did little to allay the Kop's concerns with a decidedly downbeat assessment of his side's prospects in Europe in February.
