DISTILLATION is a common processing procedure in many industries, including cosmetics. It is also used extensively in chemical analysis, laboratory research and chemical product manufacturing. The usual purpose of distillation is purification or separation of the components of a mixture, which is made possible because the composition of the vapor is usually different from that of the liquid mixture from which it is obtained.
