They dissected a squid, then used its ink for writing assignments.
Other interesting lessons this year in the classrooms at St. Michael's School in Dane found students learning about the Pony Express, the solar system and the science behind a tornado's power.
Some of these lessons were mentioned in essays written by students in grades K-8 at St. Michael's. Teacher Fran Tierney coordinated the essay-writing effort.
We appreciate their help with this month's feature in which students answer a question that has to do with their values and attitudes about life.
