In Germany, "The NR latex allergy epidemic is over," according to Dr Henning Allmers, of the Department of Dermatology at Osnabruck University.
Allmers said there is a direct linear correlation "between the decrease of occupational asthma and the purchase of powder-free gloves."
In Finland, meanwhile, a long-term approach of testing latex gloves for allergen-and only using ones shown to have the lowest possible levels-has also limited problems of latex protein allergy (LPA) in the healthcare sector.
