WITH spring planting season fully underway, the feed ingredient market remains quiet despite low prices.
"No one wants to take time to load or unload right now," said one trader.
Another trader reported some interest from end users, primarily dairies, to contract for products, including dried distillers grains and soy hull pellets. "I think it's an indication that guys are looking at historical values and thinking, 'How wrong could we be?'"
However, even with low prices, it's a hard sell. "Every day they look at the (Chicago Board of Trade) and see weakness, they put off buying another day," the trader said.
