Minnesota Public Radio ended its involvement with commercial radio Wednesday, selling KLBB (1400 AM) and KLBP (1470 AM) to a New York media group that plans a new Spanish-language station and another possibly aimed at Hmong listeners.
St. Paul-based KLBB played American standards from the 1940s and 1950s, a format that was simulcast on KLBP, based in Brooklyn Park. They were purchased for $5.2 million by Davidson Media Group. The company, started last year, owns 20 East Coast and Midwest radio stations.
