The following was submitted by Joe Sarnicola of Auburn, about how he met his wife, Rita.
Rita was a princess from outer space, and I was a Zippo lighter.
She was wearing a costume, and I was wearing a cardboard box.
We were both at a Halloween party at Sour Grapes Tavern in Auburn. She was with a friend of mine, but by the end of the evening, I knew I wanted her to be more than just a friend to me.
She must have felt the same way, because we saw each other often after that.
