In 1988, Chrysler Corporation introduced the first, carlike minivans - the Dodge Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager. Since then, these models have been the most popular vans of this type. The imitators began jumping in quickly with their versions, so that now these vans are the third best-selling models in the United States, and climbing.
From a towing standpoint, these mini-vans fall into three categories.
