May 27--It may not feel like beach weather, but thermometers and common sense be damned.
Tomorrow marks the official opening of the city's seven beaches, and more than 1,100 lifeguards will be watching the surf -- if anyone dares to go in.
The water temperature will be a frigid 50 degrees.
On the bright side, beachgoers will be treated to dry skies, with warming temperatures hovering in the mid-70s over the Memorial Day weekend, meteorologists predicted.
