PRINCETON, N.J. _ Fresh from criticizing Syria at the United Nations, Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres offered gentler remarks Tuesday night in a talk at Princeton University.
``Justice is a different problem'' when one side acknowledges the other, he said, referring to the mutual-recognition pact signed earlier this month by Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Peres focused on the need for economic development for the Palestinians. ``To build a Mideast is to handle the real problems of our lives _ the desertification of the land, the low standard of living, the lack of sufficient education,'' he said.
