ARLINGTON, Texas _ As usual, there was a hot team on the field when the White Sox played. But on Friday night the Sox weren't that team.
With Alfonso Soriano hitting two of his team's four home runs, the Texas Rangers knocked off the White Sox, 6-2, in the opener of a three-game series before 31,149 at Ameriquest Field.
It was the seventh victory in a row for Texas, which has won 10 of its last 12 to move into first place in the American League West.
Mark Teixeira, Michael Young and Soriano (twice) homered against rookie Brandon McCarthy, who had been impressive in his big-league debut Sunday at Wrigley Field. But ...
