As I celebrated the funeral Mass for murdered police officer Donnie Young earlier this month I remembered - again - the privilege we all share living in Colorado.
The outpouring of support from fellow police officers, public officials and every corner of the community did something important. It dramatized the respect and gratitude we owe to every person in uniform who protects us. It underlined the cost some officers pay for that commitment.
