The message was simple: pass the budget.
On April 28, in a small day care centre in Toronto's City Hall, social justice and faith leaders all lodged tinder the umbrella of the Campaign Against Child Poverty (CACP) and Campaign 2000 urged parliamentarians to delay a federal election until the new initiatives for Canadian children was passed and guaranteed.
With the Paul Martin Liberals scrambling for their life and the continuation of the minority government, a new deal was brokered with the New Democratic Party, which would release new monies that would help alleviate the poverty in many Canadians' lives. The Coalition detailed ...
