May 30--The snow is gone and Big Bear Lake businesses are gearing up for the summer tourists.
Big Bear Lake is near capacity because of winter storms, Big Bear Lake Association spokesman Dan McKernan said. "The snow pack is already gone and the lake is near capacity. It's at 70 feet right now.
"The lake is a driving force for business during the summer," he said.
Business is up for North Shore Landing and Holloway's Marina and RV Park in Big Bear Lake, owner Loren Hafen said.
Hafen's two businesses rent boats, water skis, and recreational vehicle .
Hafen usually staffs 24 workers during summer ...
