And so it is June, during which parents devote the first week to prying the kids out of bed. Just a few more days of school, come on, let's go! June is the month when the rest of the vegetable garden goes in whether or not the soil feels warm enough, simply because fall's first frost date seems uncomfortably near.
June is when we wonder why leisure time should feel so frantic, but that's only because we're tumbling over ourselves trying to do it all at once - we've waited so long.
So hold on. Take a deep breath on this first day and read a little of what June has inspired among some American poets. It may help set ...
