Jun. 2--The area's two largest business membership groups called off their two-year competition and did everything but merge Wednesday.
At a news conference that included the mayors of the area's three cities and the two county executives, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Two Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce formally announced a one-year trial partnership.
Leaders from both chambers carefully called the new relationship a one-year "affiliation" that could result sometime next year in a "consolidation" of the two organizations. The two chambers are not combining their finances. They will continue to ...
