Jun. 2--MASSENA -- A $5 million New York Power Authority visitors center at the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project will hold a preview opening from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Exhibits at the 14,000-square-foot Hawkins Point Visitors Center will include interactive experiments to teach lessons on current, magnetism, light, heat and generating electricity, said Connie M. Cullen, spokeswoman for NYPA. A cutout of the power dam and a model of a turbine generator will also be on display. Visitors can take a computerized quiz on electricity.
