It's time to fully fund education
Reporter Joe Mosley's May 21 article "Report: State corporate taxes down 75 percent since '70s" was quite interesting. Let's hope that information like this will help the Legislature set the right priorities as it determines tax and budget policy.
Polls show that most Oregonians want good schools, safe communities and programs for seniors and other vulnerable citizens. Inadequate revenues and the instability of our state tax structure stand in the way, so perhaps we need to look at the shift of the tax burden onto individuals from businesses.
