AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. - My "gallery" was a snowy white egret.
The elegant bird watched me tee up at the Ocean Links course's finishing hole, a 133-yard par-3 facing the waters of Red Maple Lake.
As I stood over an 8-iron, it extended its long wings, flew a foot above my head and swooped softly toward the green, alighting on the right fringe.
"So beautiful," I said to my playing partner. "Nature's gift to us."
