Charlene Kendall, 83, Army wife
Aura Charlene Kendall, the wife of an Army officer, died May 7 at Westhoff Hospital in Rockledge, Fla. She was 83.
Mrs. Kendall was born in Owen County, Ind., and grew up in Bloomington, Ind. There she met Maurice "Maury" Wesley Kendall, a student at Indiana University. They were married in 1942. She was an Army wife for the next 36 years, living at military posts in the U.S. and overseas as her husband rose to the rank of major general. She was among the first dependant wives to arrive in Germany at the end of World War II and also accompanied her husband on tours in Okinawa, Japan, ...
