Dear Luna,
This is the first time I've ever written to a magazine. I'm replying to Clara's letter about how she feels bad for the terrible things in the world (November/December 2004). I just wanted to let Clara know she's not alone. In fact, I was really surprised and relieved to see her letter in the magazine. The night before I got that issue of New Moon, I had read a very disturbing article about American soldiers torturing Iraqi prisoners. I could barely sleep because I was crying and thinking about how awful it would be to be in those prisoners' shoes. Sometimes I wish my sadness would be shared by the whole world and that my praying could actually stop ...
