Our August and September '92 columns explored the basics and requisite tools of hard disk recording. Now let's cover some "guerrilla recording" tricks for getting more out of a hard disk system. But first we've got a new tool to add to last column's list: Steinberg's Cubase Audio for the Mac. My initial impressions are very favorable: It uses any of Digidesign's audio boards and smoothly integrates digital recording with MIDI sequencing. At $399, it's priced singificantly lower than similar software.
The tape recorder connection. Hard disk recording offers exceptional editing options, but storing hard disk data is expensive, especially with multitrack systems. ...
