1855 The Stamp Act is repealed, and Michael James Whitty launches the Liverpool Daily Post from a small printing shop at 29 Lord Street.
1869 Edward Russell begins a 50-year career as editor of the Liverpool Daily Post1879 Alexander Grigor Jeans becomes manager of the Daily Post, and launches the Liverpool Echo, publishing both newspapers from new offices in Victoria Street.
