Jun. 8--Boulder Venture South LLC filed suit against Pinellas County Tuesday, asking for an injunction to prevent the sale of land next to the Crossroads Mall without a requirement that the property be used for economic development.
The Clearwater developer, which plans to demolish the mall to build a $140-million mixed-use town center, was one of seven companies who submitted bids for the county property. Pinellas County Economic Development, however, chose Cepcot Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of pool retailer Pinch-A-Penny, which wants to expand its headquarters and build warehouse and distribution facilities on the site.
