At the Class 4A state tournament in Gypsum last month, golfers were shuttled to the top of a ridge to play some of the holes on the front nine at Cotton Ranch Club. It was there that Ashley Tait stood out, a fitting reminder that the Mullen senior was at the top of her sport.
Tait is the Rocky Mountain News All-Colorado golfer of the year. She won the state tournament, but that was nothing new. Tait, who has a full-ride golf scholarship to Tulane, won state as a freshman and junior as well.
In the only season Tait wasn't 4A medalist, she finished second. Mullen also won the team championship every year of ...
