DaimlerChrysler is determined to prevent the French faction from taking control of the Franco-German aeronautics group EADS, Jurgen Schrempp, Chairman of the German automobile manufacturer (the group's reference shareholder) told the Welt am Sontag weekly. "We will prevent a unilateral acquisition of control of EADS by the French", said Mr Schrempp, responding to recent comments by Noel Forgeard in the French daily Le Figaro. The Airbus Chairman, whose appointment as co-Chairman of EADS has been blocked owing to his refusal to step down from his current post, complained of "differences between shareholders".
