SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Spurs were off for more than one week. Then they decided to take another half-hour off.
But when the Spurs finally started to jingle, the Detroit Pistons were in heaps of trouble.
The Spurs fell behind 17-4 to start Game 1 of the NBA Finals. But they shook that off and defeated the Pistons 84-69 on Thursday night at the SBC Center.
San Antonio went on an 80-52 tear after stumbling out of the starting blocks.
