The next time broadway producer Rocco Landesman is looking for a good plot, he just might want to tell the story of his own life.
Like Sky Masterson, who rolls the dice while entreating "Luck Be a Lady'' in Guys and Dolls, Mr. Landesman thrives on large-scale risks, whether he's betting thousands at the racetrack, picking stocks or, perhaps the biggest nail-biter of all, owning the third-largest Broadway theater chain and producing multimillion-dollar plays.
"It's great to stare into the abyss and not go there,'' says Mr. Landesman, who bought the Jujamcyn Theaters in February after serving as its president for 18 years. ...
