In echoes of the UK government's digital cinema scheme, US company Screening Room Digital Cinemas (SRDC) is to build a network of digital art-house eatery-style cinemas. The Digital Boutique Arthouse concept aims to combine digital technology with art-house, independent or niche programming (such as family films) and alternative content (sports, etc). At present, first-run titles will not be available, although the aim is to include them once the industry begins wide releases in digital format.
