Jun. 13--WILTON -- It's hard to believe that the Internet survey company Greenfield Online, traded on the Nasdaq Stock market and with more than 400 workers worldwide, started in 1994 in a Fairfield University computer lab, run by an intern.

Hugh Davis, Greenfield Online's executive vice president of business optimization, was that intern and he jokes that the only reason he got to set up an Internet survey for Greenfield Consulting Group was that he "knew how to turn on a computer." For more than a year, the economics major basically ran Greenfield Online.
