TORONTO _ Chris Carpenter altered his routine Monday. Rather than adhere to his no-interview policy the day before a start, the ex-Toronto Blue Jays pitcher held an afternoon session with a contingent of predominantly Canadian media before batting practice.
British Columbia native Larry Walker also adjusted his routine Tuesday. Frustrated with a misbehaving swing, the Cardinals' designated hitter took early batting practice and later hit with the day's extra men.
The two then celebrated coming home at the Blue Jays' expense in a 7-0 win in front of a Rogers Centre crowd that swelled to 37,536 because of a $2 (Canadian) ...
