We constantly hear the phrase, "Change is the only constant." Well, if it's so constant, why do employees still resist change? There are six primary reasons why workplace change can be challenging.
1. Employees don't understand the reasons for the change. It seems so obvious but many times the biggest reason for the change goes unstated. Why? Most of the time, it's because leadership doesn't have the "stomach" for being honest with employees. Often, it's a hard message to deliver. So, instead of being completely honest, the reasons that are stated don't add up. Employees know there's more to the story and they know they're not being told the truth.
