NEW YORK -- Montreal-based Peerless Clothing Inc. has acquired full ownership of Alan Stuart Co., a Miami, Fla.-based sportswear firm in which it has held a half-interest since August 2003.

According to Alvin Segal, Peerless's chairman, the clothing company has obtained the remaining 50 percent stake in the company formerly owned Alan Glist, president, who has retired.

"We're going full steam ahead," said Segal, noting that Oscar Rodriguez, who has been vice-president of operations for the past year and a half, has been promoted to president. Before joining Alan Stuart, Rodriguez operated his own women's sportswear ...
