Do-It-Yourself Retailing erred when it reported in its April 2005 issue that New York City had passed legislation to ban the sale of spray paint. The New York City Council has only proposed legislation that would ban the retail sale of aerosol spray paint cans, broad tipped indelible markers and etching acid.
