MANILA, June 16 Asia Pulse - The Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has reported an increase in its collections for May 2005 of 18.29 per cent compared to the same month last year.
Preliminary figures from the BIR show that at least P48.06 billion (US$868.4 million) was collected during the month, exceeding its collection performance for May 2004 by P7.55 billion.
The BIR has sustained its high collection growth rate this year vis-a-vis 2004 collections.
