Cafe Paradiso, a coffeehouse and live music venue in downtown Eugene, closed abruptly last week.
The cafe's phone number is disconnected, and newspaper covers its windows. Concerts scheduled for this Saturday and next Saturday have been canceled, cafe owner Greg Fleener said.
The closure ends what Fleener said was a decadelong struggle with the street people who trespassed, loitered and dealt drugs near the cafe.
"It's really tough to conduct business when you have that element at your front door," he said. "I was lucky to survive as long as I did.
