If ever there was a niche in the mortgage market it has to be green mortgages.
As we explore in our cover feature starting on page 48, it's questionable whether the green mortgage market is justified or just a marketing gimmick. From the three lenders most visible in this market, Norwich and Peterborough, Co-Operative and the Ecology, choice of so called green products is limited.
Supposedly it's the environmentally friendly way for your clients to take out a mortgage but don't be fooled. What's supposed to be friendly to the planet is going to be harmful to their finances.
