LOS ANGELES _ If you're a star in Hollywood, your life is caught in a perpetual cycle of spin. Billy Bob Thornton, though, isn't the kind of man to serve you scraped up roadkill and call it filet mignon.
On hand for a special screening of the newly released "Sling Blade: Director's Cut" DVD in Beverly Hills last week, Thornton might have been well-served to try arguing that the new cut of the Oscar-winning Southern Gothic drama, enhanced by some 22 minutes, was somehow a definitive version of the film.
