Two beef processors in Minnesota and Wisconsin on Wednesday said they're merging into a new food company to combine their strengths at a time when a crisis in the beef industry is forcing others out of business.
Officials of Rosen Meat Group, a subsidiary of Rosen Diversified Inc. in Fairmont, and American Foods Group Inc. of Green Bay, Wis., anticipate no layoffs but instead want to restore the full-time work hours workers have lost as cattle supplies tightened during the two-year-old ban on Canadian cattle.
