THE press opening for the 342-room Hotel Puerta America, in Madrid, with its facade of yellow, purple and orange and adorned with passages from Liberty, by French Surrealist poet Paul Elugard, was like the glitziest of Hollywood premiers.
The stars were the architects involved, including Jean Nouvel, Sir Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, John Pawson, David Chipperfield, Christian Liaigre, Marc Newson, Ron Arad and Javier Mariscal.
