IF HORSE racing is the sport of kings and Formula One racing is the sport of the newly rich, then rallying is probably the motor sport of the masses of people just like me.
Unlike F1, rallying has its roots firmly in the real world. Instead of wingless jet fighters where the wheels fall off, rally cars are designed to stay together in some of the most extreme circumstances.
Rallying appeals because the cars used resemble something you could walk into a showroom and buy, cars indeed, like the Subaru Impreza.
