After 163 years, an English translation of Etienne Cabet's French novel, Voyage en Icarie, has been published. At least that is what one thinks when reading the title, Travels in Icaria. It is misleading however, for the title is not correct. It should have been identified as, "Travels in Icaria: Part I--Travels--Tale---Description," the heading Cabet placed over the first half of his 600-page book. Why not state the precise amount covered in the partial translation? Are readers expected to have ...
