NEW ORLEANS -- After two years of treatment and documentation, researchers are reporting a 50 percent decline in the number of reproductive termite swarms in the New Orleans French Quarter.(a) As one of the most densely Formosan termite-infested areas in the country, the reduction represents a winning effort to stop termites in an entire area, giving hope to other heavily infested areas looking to eliminate termites en masse.
