A rift between two art groups, dwindling financial backing and a lack of interest in public art has led to the eviction of four sculptures from downtown Des Plaines.
But at least one of them has found a new home.
Colorado artist Robert Mangold's pointy sculpture that used to puncture the sky outside the Des Plaines Public Library now sits in a grassy area in downtown Arlington Heights, where the village has just started its own downtown public art project.
