Jun. 20--Maybe nobody wants a church or synagogue to move onto their street because of the crowds. But when the congregation has a unique background and a history of conflict elsewhere, some neighbors are even more skittish.

Officials of the Chabad Lubavitch of Tallahassee insist that concerns about their new religious center in what was the home of former Mayor Scott Maddox are groundless.

"They are very conscious of wanting to be good neighbors," said their attorney Charles Gardner. "I think everything they're doing is pretty normal. It just so happens it is not a Baptist church. It is a Jewish Orthodox congregation."
