There is a growing awareness of the environmental and health problems that can arise from indoor air pollution. This is particularly so in the case of young children, who are likely to be more susceptible to airborne irritants and pollutants than adults, and a number of recent studies have identified a link between exposure to what are known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and asthma and similar diseases.
