One of Northern Kentucky's most notorious sex offenders was back in Kenton County Monday.
Larry Howell went before Kenton Circuit Judge Douglas Stephens to find out when he would be re-sentenced for his drug-related convictions, a hearing mandated by the state Supreme Court, but one that will have little practical impact on his time behind bars.
Howell, 44, who eventually pleaded guilty to 44 counts of sodomy, is serving 35 years in prison for those crimes. He is serving that time concurrently with his 20-year sentence on drug charges, which is now officially overturned.
