Jun. 22--The last three months have been good ones for area home builders.
They started the year slowly, taking out 25 percent fewer building permits than they did during January 2004. And that was followed by a 13 percent drop in February.
Since March, however, things have picked up considerably.
The first five months of the year are lagging the same period last year by only 4.5 percent, and the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis still predicts the year will end at a level that's 2.5 percent below last year.
