Haagen-Dazs Inc., Oakland, Calif., has made this consumer dream come true.

This month the company is introducing a new line of ice cream--Haagen-Dazs Light--with the mouthfeel and taste of regular Haagen-Dazs ice cream, but with half the fat. In taste tests consumers felt that Haagen-Dazs Light tasted as good as regular Haagen-Dazs ice cream, and sometimes scored the Light ice cream higher.
